Premier Post Ground Fix Instructions

Thank you for choosing our fencing system for your garden, the following information should be read prior to installation and if you have any questions after reading through these instructions then please do give us a call.

Your delivery should contain all that you require to install your run of fencing, various small components will be found inside the post packages. If you think anything is missing please contact us as soon as possible.

The first step is to set out your fencing, we recommend that you lay the posts on the ground and adjust the intervals to give a balanced run of posts. We suggest about 1.75 to 2.5 meters between posts but you may need to adjust these measurements so you do not end up with a small or large gap at one end.

Before you install your posts into the ground you should remove the caps (Please knock them from the inside of the post with a broom handle or similar to avoid damage). As you have chosen the ground fix posts you are going to excavate a hole for each post, the recommended method of installation would be to put a small amount of concrete around the base of each post and place 12 inch of post in the ground. (Before you do this you should locate the section of UPVC tube through the hole in the bottom of each post as this will stop the post being lifted out of the concrete once set.)

To install the chain into an end post you should feed the end of your chain through the chain hole in the post and pull it up through the top of the post, now take two of the joining links supplied and clip them both onto the very end link of your chain as in the photo and drop this back inside the post and replace the cap. You may now feed the chain through the remaining posts by gently pulling it until the desired droop in the chain is achieved but do not replace the caps on these posts at the moment.

You will note that you also have a split link with each intermediate post, this link will be used to stop the chain dragging through the posts and becoming uneven. Once you have put up your posts and set the chain exactly as you would like it, go to each intermediate post in turn and apply the split link as in the photo to a link of chain inside the post and this will stop the chain moving left/right.

You will also have received a joining link to accompany each corner or ‘T’ post. Although you can pass the chain through the corner posts, it would be laborious with a great length of chain and so we suggest that once you have identified the location of the corner you cut the chain and utilise the joining link supplied at this point.

Finally, replace all the post caps by gently tapping them in with something which will not damage them as you do so.

Premier Post Socket Fix Instructions

Thank you for choosing our fencing system for your garden, the following information should be read prior to installation and if you have any questions after reading through these instructions then please do give us a call.

In your delivery you should have all that you require to install your run of fencing, various small components will be found inside the post packages. If you think anything is missing please contact us as soon as possible.

The first step is to set out your fencing, we recommend that you lay the posts or sockets on the ground and adjust the intervals to give a balanced run of posts. We suggest about 1.75 to 2.5 meters between posts but you will need to adjust these intervals so you do not end up with a small or large interval at one end.

Once you have decided on the post locations you can either concrete the sockets in position or use the extended socket section included to form the hole for your sockets. If the ground is soft enough this will be straight forward, but if it is hard and dry you may find that soaking the area with water may help. Place a piece of wood over the top of the hole former section and drive it into the ground some 3 inches, tap and shake the hole former and then remove it with a core of soil. Repeat this exercise a couple more times taking a further three inches of soil out each time. The hole you make should be 3 inches shallower than the socket which you are going to put into the hole. This ensures that when you do place the socket into the hole you have made, you will need to hammer it in the final 3 inches, by doing so the bottom 3 inches of the socket will have embedded into the soil for extra sturdiness.

Insert a depth limit pin into the hole in one side of the socket and push it through so that it protrudes evenly on each side of the socket, this pin will stop your fence post from sinking through the socket and into the ground. Now place the socket into the hole you have made previously and again place a piece of wood over the top and tap the socket into the ground so that its top is flush with or slightly below the ground level. (The end of the socket nearest the plastic pin should go into the ground 1st)

The posts can now be dropped into the sockets.

To install the chain we recommend you first remove all the post caps by knocking them from the inside with a broom handle or similar to avoid damage. Starting with an end post feed the end of your chain through the hole in one end post and pull the chain up through the top of the post, now take two of the joining links supplied and clip them both onto the very end link of your chain as in the photo and drop this chain back into the post and replace the cap. You may now continue to feed the chain through the remaining posts by gently pulling it until the desired droop in the chain is achieved.

You will note that you also have a split link for each intermediate post, this link will be used to stop the chain dragging through the posts and becoming uneven. Once you have put up your posts and set the chain exactly as you would like it, then go to each post in turn and apply the split link as in the photo to a link of chain inside the post and this will stop the chain from moving left/right.

You will also have received a joining link to accompany each corner or ‘T’ post. Although you can pass the chain through the corner posts, it would be laborious with a great length of chain and so we suggest that once you have identified the location of the corner you cut the chain and utilise the joining link supplied at this point.

Temporary Post Fixing Instructions

Thank you for choosing our fencing system, the following information should be read prior to installation and if you have any questions after reading through this information then please do give us a call.

Your delivery should have all that you require to install your run of fencing, various small components will be found inside the post packages. If you think anything is missing please contact us as soon as possible.

The first step is to set out your fencing, we recommend that you tap the wooden stakes into the ground lightly first and adjust the intervals to give a balanced run of posts. We suggest about 1.0 to 1.75 meters between posts but you will need to adjust these measurements so you do not end up with a small or large interval at one end.

Once you are happy with the spacing you can drive the wooden stakes into the ground. DO PLACE A PIECE OF WOOD OVER THE TOP OF THE STAKES WHEN DRIVING THEM IN TO THE GROUND SO AS NOT TO DAMAGE THE TOP OF THE STAKE, SO THAT THE UPVC POST WILL NOT FIT OVER IT. Drive each post in to the ground until about 12 inches is protruding above ground level then drop the UPVC post over the stake. A screw and cover cap is supplied so that you can secure the UPVC post to the wooden stake at the end of the installation.

BEFORE YOU FIX THE POSTS WITH THE SCREWS WE RECOMMEND YOU REMOVE THE CAPS. (This is best done with a broom handle placed within the post to knock it out)

Starting with an end post feed the end of your chain through the hole in one end post and pull it up through the top of the post, now take two of the joining links supplied and clip them both onto the very end link of your chain as seen in the photo and drop this back into the post. You may now feed the chain through the remaining posts by gently pulling it until the desired droop in the chain is achieved. In your packs of intermediate posts you will have 1 split link per post, once you have set the chain as required you can push a split link onto a link of chain INSIDE each post as seen in the photo before replacing all of the caps. This split link will stop your chain from being pulled left/right through the post and becoming unbalanced.

You will also have received a joining link to accompany each corner or ‘T’ post. Although you can pass the chain through the corner posts, it would be laborious with a great length of chain and so we suggest that once you have identified the location of the corner you cut the chain and utilise the joining link supplied at this point.

Verge Markers Instructions

The first step is to set out your Verge Markers, we recommend that you tap the wooden stakes into the ground lightly first and adjust the intervals to give a balanced run of posts. We suggest about 1.0-1.2 meters between posts but you may need to adjust these measurements so that you do not end up with a small or large interval at one end.

Once you are happy with the spacing between the timber stakes it is time to drive them into the ground or set them in concrete, if you are driving them into the ground please put a piece of timber on top of the stake whilst knocking them into the ground to avoid damaging the stake which would affect the UPVC post from fitting over it.

The timber stake needs to be either knocked or concreted into the ground approx 13″ (330mm) which would then leave approx 11″ above ground to completely fill the Verge Marker and give a very solid post, if you can’t get 13″ into the ground due to hitting hard ground then it will be necessary to trim a little off the timber stake so that only 11″ of timber is above ground so that the UPVC post can slide over it and fully cover the stake.

Once all the stakes are in the ground and the UPVC posts have been fitted please make sure that the UPVC post has fully reached the ground without dislodging the post cap, if the cap has been pushed off this means you either need to drive the timber stake a little further into the ground or cut a little off the top of the timber stake if it can’t be knocked a little further into the ground.

Once you are happy that all the UPVC posts sit well on the ground with the caps fully installed you can then secure the UPVC Post to the timber stake with the screw and cover cap that is included.
